A dinner date in Wilmington can start with rolling out your own pasta. Book a one-session cooking class and spend the afternoon making a meal together, or try the pottery wheel if you’d rather make something to keep. The studio finishes your pottery after class, so arrange shipping or plan to pick it up on a later visit.

Availability comes first. At the October 30, 2026 check, Pineapple Studios’ two short pottery formats were sold out. Little Olive’s November ravioli dates showed availability, and DeMarco Family Kitchen had seats listed for its February pizza classes. These are scheduled sessions with changing inventory; reserve your actual date before arranging the rest of the day.

The class prices below were checked October 30, 2026. They’re advertised prices for one person, before any applicable taxes, checkout charges or pottery shipping. A listed price on a sold-out product doesn’t mean a seat can be purchased.

The One Time Classes and Wine & Wheel pages supply Pineapple’s terms. For Little Olive, go to littleolivestore.com, choose Cooking Classes, then open “Fresh Ravioli with Brown Butter & Sage Sauce.” DeMarco’s classic public class and signature class products have separate date selectors.

For a November visit, the ravioli class is the option here with dates showing seats. If you’d rather try the pottery wheel, check for a new Pineapple release before choosing a travel weekend around it. DeMarco suits a longer cooking outing when its calendar matches your stay. None of these is a daily drop-in attraction.

Pineapple Studios for a short pottery session

Pineapple’s one-off format gives you time to try preparing clay and shaping cups or bowls on the wheel without signing up for a longer course. The studio lists its location at 1016 and 1018 N. Fourth St., so this is a Wilmington outing to arrange around a beach stay.

Keep the two products separate. The One Time Classes offering is for ages 16 and older and lists a 3:30-5 p.m. session. Wine & Wheel is for ages 21 and older, starts at 6:30 p.m., and includes materials and drinks. Both last 90 minutes. Neither showed available seats at the check, so have another afternoon plan until you receive a booking confirmation.

The pottery takes longer than the lesson. Pineapple handles glazing and says pickup notification comes in about two weeks; it offers shipping to out-of-town participants for an additional charge. Ask for the shipping cost to your address before paying, and allow delivery time beyond the studio’s approximate turnaround. If taking a finished souvenir home that weekend is essential, this class won’t meet that need.

Pineapple’s product terms also say cancellations with less than 72 hours’ notice aren’t refundable and bookings can’t be transferred into another class option. Check those terms against your travel plans when new dates appear. For a pottery afternoon followed by dinner, choose a restaurant separately; our downtown Wilmington dining guide can help with the meal.

Little Olive Co. for making ravioli downtown

Little Olive’s fresh-ravioli class is a shorter cooking option if you’d like to make pasta and eat together without spending most of the day in a kitchen. The current product at littleolivestore.com lists two-hour sessions at 242 Princess St., with participants working at a community table in a group of 10.

You don’t need to arrive knowing how to make pasta. Describing the shop’s classes in a September 2026 WilmingtonBiz report, co-owner Jackie Moncada said, “If you’ve never cooked before, (our chefs) will walk you through it.” Ask the shop how the instruction works for the session you choose if beginner support matters to you.

You make dough from scratch, prepare a ricotta filling, then fill and seal ravioli before cooking it with brown butter and sage sauce. The listing includes eating together afterward and one portion with to-go containers. That makes it useful for a couple who want an activity with food included, as long as they’re happy sharing the class with other guests.

The November schedule lists November 7 and 21, 2026, with sessions from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on each date. All four options showed availability at the check; the November 7 afternoon selection also displayed an active booking button. The advertised price is $75 a seat. Choose the exact date and time under “Fresh Ravioli with Brown Butter & Sage Sauce,” then review the final checkout total. A voucher alone won’t reserve a place on your weekend.

The menu includes dairy and pasta dough, so ask about your specific dietary needs before paying. Also ask the shop about minimum age and any access needs; the product doesn’t give a numerical age limit or promise adaptations. This comparison is aimed at adults planning a shared activity, and it doesn’t establish that the class suits young children.

Little Olive’s class cancellation policy allows a full refund with at least a week’s notice. Later cancellations can become a voucher, but same-day cancellations receive neither. The shop can also cancel or reschedule a class if minimum enrollment isn’t met, with a refund or transfer offered. A future-use voucher may be less useful when you’re visiting from out of town, so read that part before booking around a flight or a short stay.

DeMarco Family Kitchen for a longer cooking afternoon

DeMarco’s classes take place in Chef Kevin DeMarco’s professionally equipped home kitchen in Sunset Park. The about page describes finishing the experience with a meal at the family dining table. It’s a small-group setting for someone who wants cooking and conversation to occupy a substantial part of Saturday.

The public class schedule lists 23 Sunset Ave. as the venue, with Saturday classes starting at 11 a.m. The public products describe hands-on instruction for up to eight people, usually lasting 3.5-4 hours, with beverages and a recipe booklet included. Leave the afternoon free rather than putting a timed attraction immediately afterward.

Check the individual product even when a date appears on the schedule. The November 7, 2026 Indian cuisine class remained listed, but its booking inventory was sold out at the check. The pizza class product showed availability for February 6 and 13, 2027, at $175 a person. That class uses a wood-fired pizza oven. Those February dates are a future-trip option if November is already your travel month.

The operator’s FAQs describe public classes as suited to adults and teens, without a numerical minimum age. Public menus are chosen by the chef, and guests with dietary concerns are asked to raise them early. Get an answer for your particular menu and needs, along with cancellation terms and any access arrangements, before purchasing. Private-class menu flexibility doesn’t establish what can be changed in a public session.

Choose one class and leave time around it

These classes work best as an activity you arrange ahead. They won’t suit a group that needs a guaranteed walk-in option, and the pottery formats won’t provide a finished keepsake on the day. If a class date doesn’t fit, an outing to the Cameron Art Museum gives you a different way to spend time with art. For the rest of a cool-weather stay, our Wilmington winter guide pairs indoor outings with time outside.

For November, start with Little Olive’s dated ravioli sessions. For a later trip, compare DeMarco’s longer cooking afternoon with any newly released pottery dates. Once you’ve reserved a class, leave enough time to enjoy the meal or finish at the wheel without having to hurry to the next booking.
